THE CHARITY TRIP NAMED “HAPPINESS”

Các bé thuộc thôn Nặm Tốc, xã Đôn Phong, huyện Bạch Thông, tỉnh Bắc Kạn

“Life becomes harder for us when we live for others, but it also becomes richer and happier.”
~Albert Schweitzer~

I did not notice how happy I was, how lucky I am… until I saw them, those children with beautiful sparkle in their eyes. When you asked me: What is happiness? I think… Happiness is to be selfish a bit, is when we receive so much more than what we give. Thank Jellyfish Education for this wonderful charity experience.

What is my happiness? It is to give away and see your bright smiles in return.

The trip begins

Starting when the sun hasn’t risen yet, till 9 am, we were still cramped in the stuffy car. Bac Kan welcomed us with dry heat and dusty winds. Lucky us, that was a beautiful day, the sky is blue and the mountain peaks can be seen clearly through those puffy white clouds. After passing the bustling center of Bac Kan province, it was almost noon and we were closed to our destination. It is a primary school located in a village in Nam Toc, Don Phong commune, Bach Thong district, Bac Kan province. At this moment, the rugged mountain road forced us to get off the car. Tons of belongings have been transported by motorbike and pack hiking carts. Sweat soaked in the green uniform, but our enthusiasm remained the same.

When we saw those small, dark skinned children pulling each other to village entrance to welcome us, some of us did shed a tear. The teachers there told us when the children heard we’re visiting, they were eager for a long time. In the early morning, they already pulled each other to the gate waiting for us. Welcoming us are not fresh flowers and pennants, but those eyes gleaming with joy and hope, sweet and tender greetings and tiny dirty hands instead. All these little things made me feel warm and choked with emotion.

The school is remotely located in a hill. All the little girls and boys here, who are just only 5 or 6 years old, have to walk for miles to school everyday and living in extremely poor condition. There is no electricity system in surrounding area since the mountain road is too dangerous for the installation. In the summer, the children only wear dirty patchwork clothes. Same thing happens in winter while they don’t have enough coats and even slippers to wear.

When we asked the children, “Have you ever been on a Mid-autumn lantern parade?”, “Have you ever tried mooncakes or snow skin mooncakes?”, “Did you buy new pens and notebook for new semester?”… all the answer are “No, we haven’t”. There is a little boy even grabbed my arm, asking: “What is mooncake? Does it taste good?”

For this wonderful meeting, Jellyfish prepared new books, notebooks, pens, charging electric lights, small toys and mooncakes…The children held tightly gift bags, like they are the most precious presents ever.

Every party must come to an end, when we prepared to leave, some little friends bursted into tears, asking us to promise to come back! “Of course we will visit you guys again. Promise us you will study hard, well behave and help your parents with their houseworks, yes?”

Next time, we will definitely organize these trips again. Would you like to join us? Please register now to join our Jellyfish family!

With the mindset: “The more you give away the more happy you become”, we want to deliver the best things to you! Congratulation on another “Children future is the pride of the country” season has been greatly successful.
